Jessica Munoz-Simmons, LMFT

California psychotherapist providing support to BIPOC teen girls & women navigating anxiety, depression, social anxiety, and OCD.

I've been there.

Everything is so overwhelming. It's tough to get out of bed, let alone leave the house. You may feel anxious most of the time, perhaps even to the point where you're avoiding social functions. You're experiencing debilitating intrusive thoughts and obsessions that will not get out of your head, compulsions you can't help but do to quiet the thoughts. The past and the future can both feel daunting, and even the present isn’t easy to sit with, as you're a person of color and/or queer person navigating a modern society that isn't built for you. You may even not be a legal adult yet, stuck between social pressures, past experiences, and who you truly are: an exhausted, frazzled teen living in an individualistic culture.

In a world that asks so much of us, it makes sense if you feel anxious, stuck, or disconnected from yourself.

I’m a therapist, a mom, and a human first. I believe that there are many parts of you with the wisdom, stories, and needs that deserve compassion, as well as the space to feel not so overburdened in this deeply overwhelming world. Whether you’re navigating excessive worry, intrusive and unwanted thoughts, life as a new mom, or simply trying to come home to yourself, you’ve found a safe place to land.
