About Me

Hi, I'm Jessica, but you can call me Jess.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #132566 practicing both in-person therapy in Los Angeles and virtual therapy across the great state of California.

I believe people already carry an innate capacity for healing, growth, and change. Sometimes that connection to ourselves can become harder to access when life feels overwhelming, painful, or disconnected. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, feel grounded, and reconnect with your inner clarity at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and values-based, with roots in liberation psychology. Together, we explore not only thoughts and behaviors, but also emotions, relationships, systemic stressors, and the ways your lived experiences have shaped how you move through the world. I strive to create a compassionate, steady space where you can feel seen, supported, and more connected to yourself.

I have almost 10 years of experience doing therapy with individuals from all types of cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses, and I’ve supported children, adolescents, and adults, including older adults. I’ve even done non-therapy roles such as case management for a health insurance plan (!). Today, I work full-time at a company fully dedicated to supporting people with OCD, while also maintaining this here private practice.

I am truly no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I support my clients. I am honored to have the opportunity to support you.

“When we liberate ourselves from the expectation that we must have all things figured out, we enter a sanctuary of empathy.”
Sonya Renee Taylor, The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love

Even More About Me...

I'm half Black and half Filipina, born and raised in Los Angeles, as the daughter of an immigrant mother and a father who came of age during the civil rights era. I identify as queer/bisexual and a cisgender woman, using she/her pronouns, and I've also been diagnosed with ADHD and mild autism. I'm also a mom of a toddler.

I’ve always been fascinated by people, diversity, music, movies, poetry, pop culture, and of course, the human mind. I’m the youngest child in my family. I'm a survivor of childhood trauma. I'm a former schoolwide spelling bee champion.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m married to my husband Michael, and we are raising an amazing 2-year-old daughter at our home in Los Angeles. We have two cats named Phoebe and Fiona. In my spare time, I love playing pub trivia, going to concerts & comedy shows, traveling, reading about true crime, writing bad poetry, and spending time with friends and family.

If any part of my story resonates with you—whether it’s identity, queerness, parenthood, anxiety, trauma, or simply being a person trying to figure it all out—I’d be honored to connect.
